Product Summary Draft #2

According to Global Tracking Technology (2017), SC2 is a multi-purpose multi-mode global positioning system tracking and telemetry device developed for tracking companies. It allows tracking companies to accurately track and oversee every land, marine and tactical asset functioning in the most inaccessible, unsafe or tough environments due to its design to endure the harshest environments. SC2 is both a software and a hardware application. The main function of SC2 is to track assets mainly through a web-based application. The features of the web-based application include web-based mapping and asset management. These features allow companies to easily access and have an overview of their assets via any internet connection globally. In addition to that, “The web-based solution requires no downloads and provides mapping, display, and management tools for many tens of thousands of assets”. With such a solution, it can help companies to track and oversee their assets instantaneously. Another feature of SC2 is that it is installed to the asset with advanced satellite and mobile technology to bring precise positional and management information within a two metres radius worldwide. In addition to it, SC2 also provides companies with the most economical satellite solution possible for both fixed and mobile applications. On top of that, SC2 delivers uninterrupted service with a “field-replaceable lithium battery”, SC2 can be activated and become operational within minutes after installation.  Furthermore, SC2 is highly configurable, it allows companies to mount SC2 onto any assets they need for tracking and also add security applications, if necessary. Although other tracking devices such as TrackinaPack (2012) also offer similar features to SC2, SC2 has Iridium satellite technology and add security applications that make it stand out from its competitors.

One unique feature of SC2 is the ability to track assets using a satellite technology, known as Iridium. This allows tracking companies to easily track their assets, even if the assets are in the middle of the ocean or the most secluded of areas. It is made possible as the satellite signals are transmitted high above the earth and do not rely on transmission towers unlike mobile technology (Global Data Systems). The features of the Iridium satellite include “Unparalleled Reach and High Dependability” and “Low-Earth Orbit Advantage”. These shorten the network transmission path, strengthens the signals and lowers the latency compared to other geostationary satellites and letting companies use the network anywhere anytime (Iridium). With this technology, companies can track their assets more reliably as SC2 communicates via satellite.

Another attractive feature that gives SC2 a competitive edge would be the security applications mentioned above. SC2 comes with an optional function which allows companies to add security applications to their assets, such as alarms, security cameras or sensors. Companies can adjust the needs to meet their demands and security concerns if their assets where to be jeopardized and protect it.

In conclusion, SC2 would be the top pick for any tracking company. It comprises of basic features such as tracking data, monitoring of asset and long life solutions. With unique features such as Iridium satellite technology and adding security applications, SC2 is the complete package.
